
Voicemail
Voicemail is enabled by default. The voicemail system will also email a .wav file of the voicemail message to the email address of your choice.
Accessing Voicemail
Get Your Voicemail As An Email Attachment
By default we send you an email to your billing email address with your new voicemail message attached. Now you can forward voicemails to others as email or even save them to your PC's hard drive.
Play Back Your Messages Online
Now you can check your voicemails without using your phone. You can check your messages online through your phone portal. All the popular media player formats are supported. It's a great feature when you're away from home.
Access Your Voicemail Box By Phone
Historically this is the standard method for checking voicemail.
To access the voicemail system from your Quantumvoice phone:
Note: This method will not work if you are not calling from your Quantumvoice line or your have your outbound caller ID blocked.
Dial: *123 -or- 734-527-7172. The system will ask for your password -- the default password is your 10-digit phone number.
To access the voicemail system from outside your home, there are 2 methods:
Method 1: Dial: (your phone number). When the voicemail system answers, press the "0" (zero) key. The system will ask for your password -- the default password is your 10-digit phone number.
Method 2: Dial: 734-527-7171. The system will ask for your mailbox -- this is your 10-digit phone number. The system will then ask for your password -- the default password is your 10-digit phone number.
Setting Up Your Voicemail
Access the voicemail system via phone per the directions above.
- Press 0 to access Mailbox Options.
- Select which greeting you want to record:
Press 1 to record your unavailable greeting
Press 2 to record your busy greeting
Press 3 to record your name
Record your greeting and press the # key when finished recording.
Changing Your Voicemail Passcode
Access the voicemail system via phone per the directions above. At this time it will take you into the menu system.
- Press 0 to access mailbox options
- Press 5 to change your security code.
Voicemail Notification
These are the ways that you are notified of new voicemail messages:
Hear a Stutter Tone
From your broadband phone you will hear a stutter dial tone when you pick up the phone.
Message Waiting Indicator Light
Your phone, if it has this functionality, the MWI (Message Waiting Indicator) light will be enabled.
Single, short ring
Your broadband phone will periodically give a single, short ring to let you know that you have voicemail.
Notification by Email
By default voicemail messages and emailed to the email address you provided when you signed up for service. You can change this email address in your phone portal.
Disabling Voicemail
You can disable voicemail at anytime, such as if you wish to use an answering machine that is connected to the phone adapter. To disable voicemail, log into your phone portal and under the My Account tab, uncheck the 'forwarding to voicemail' option and then press the 'Change' button.
Enabling Voicemail
If you have disabled voicemail you can reenable it by logging into your phone portal and under the My Account tab, check the 'forwarding to voicemail' option and then press the 'Change' button.
Changing how long before voicemail answers
To change the time it takes before your voicemail answers: Log on to your phone portal. Click on the "My Account" tab. Change the "voicemail timeout" field.
