Call Forwarding

Call forwarding causes inbound calls to your phone number to be automatically rerouted to another number. Your phone will not ring when you are using call forwarding. If you want your phone to ring in addition to the forwarded number, you will want to use the Simultaneous Ring feature instead.

Two important things to consider when using Call Forwarding:

  1. If you forward calls to a different number, your voice mail through Quantumvoice will not pick up any calls.
  2. If you are forwarding calls, charges may apply, depending on which plan you are on.

Activate (via the telephone handset).

This method assumes you are using a Sipura/Linksys based ATA. If you are using a different device, you will need to check that device's documentation on how to enable call-forwarding on it.

NOTE: If you wish to enable/disable call forwarding via your ATA adapter, you must ensure that only one Voip device is registered with our switch at a time. If you add a simultaneous ring location, or use multiple voip devices with the same Quantumvoice account, the call forwarding feature on the ATA will not function. In order to use call forwarding via the ATA adapter, you must ensure that only one voip device is registered at a time.

  1. Pick up your phone hand-set.
  2. Press *72 on your telephone keypad followed by the number (1-xxx-xxx-xxxx) you want the calls forwarded to, followed by the # key.
  3. Hang-up the phone.

This will forward your calls to the same number every time someone calls it until you disable it.

De-Activate (via the telephone handset).

To deactivate this feature:

  1. Pick up your phone hand-set.
  2. Dial *73.
  3. Hang-up the phone.
