911 Dialing
Quantumvoice provides alternative 911 emergency calling service. 911 dialing is not active immediately when your voice service is activated. When you activate alternative 911 service, your address and phone number will be added to Quantumvoice's emergency calling database.
Since Quantumvoice service can be used at any location where high-speed internet is available, it is important to remember that calls to 911 will always be routed to the local emergency dispatch center, or Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), for the location provided when you activated your alternative 9-1-1 service. If you travel and use your Quantumvoice service when you are away from home, do not call 9-1-1 with your Quantumvoice service, as 911 calls will always be routed to the PSAP for your registered location.
Quantumvoice alternative 911 service is different than traditional telephone enhanced 911 service. Quantumvoice will route your emergency call to a phone number which is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at the local PSAP for your area. Traditional enhanced 911 service provides your address and telephone number to the emergency dispatch operator. While alternative 911 service will also route your call to the correct emergency dispatch center (based on your registered address), Quantumvoice alternative 911 service may not be able to deliver your addresses to the emergency dispatcher. You may need to give the dispatcher your addresses, and possibly your telephone number.
If you have a medical or other life threatening condition, Quantumvoice recommends maintaining a traditional telephone line which is capable of Enhanced 911 service.
By signing up for Quantumvoice service, you agree to the above and the 911 Dialing Service Agreement.
